About Me

How’d I get here:

Elementary school teacher to learning designer...how did THAT happen? The short answer - after reflecting on my work-life balance as a teacher, I realized that although I loved some aspects of teaching, I was exhausted from giving up my nights and weekends.

I sought a position that would enable me to collaborate with others, make a meaningful difference, while also conserving my energy and nurturing my creative spirit.  I discovered instructional design through an online group for transitioning teachers. The more I learned about ID, the more I realized I could transfer my educator skills to an exciting new role.

My drive:

Throughout my career, first as a teacher than as an instructional designer, the one constant that has always been close to my heart is my desire to help others achieve their full potential and empower them to succeed in their educational journey. My goal is to use this drive to bring  purpose into learning design by creating meaningful, accessible learning experiences that help people and organizations to thrive.

What I bring to the table:

My background as a teacher, working in different classroom environments from general to special education, gives me an edge in the ID field. I have a deep understanding of the diverse learning needs and abilities of students, allowing me to design tailored and inclusive learning experiences that cater to individual strengths and challenges.

The fun stuff:

When I'm not in ID mode, creating one of a kind eLearning experiences, you can find me travelling with my family on road trips to unique festivals, camping and hiking, reading, practicing guitar, and getting lost in the sci-fi world.

 My family is my why.

Nothing inspires me more than my family. They are the most important and valuable gift I have in my life. My family is encouragement, comfort, values, faith, understanding, strength, fun, and hope...and above all things, my family is love.
